About the owner

My name is Greg Orosz (Or-Oz) and I am the owner of Work Harder Fitness.

I have been an athlete for as long as I can remember. Starting with football, baseball, and basketball. Then eventually finding my groove with football, wrestling, and track throughout middle school and high school. I ended my high school career on an undefeated Colorado state champion football team, 2 time state qualifier/ 1 time podium finish in wrestling, and a 16 time national track and field qualifier (shot put, discus, javelin).

I got accepted to Western State Colorado University, formerly Western State College, in Gunnison, Colorado with the goal of becoming and athletic trainer. I received a football and track scholarship, but was only able to finish half of my first semester of football after receiving too many concussions. I ended my track career after a disagreement with my throwing coach. This is when my life changed.

In 2012, after not being in a sport for 3 years, I realized I was not living the life I wanted and needed to change. I went to the gym for the first time in years and suffered through months of grueling, ineffective workouts. Eventually I remembered a lifelong dream of competing in the World’s Strongest Man and started to research. In the coming weeks I began implementing different aspects of training I had learned and actually began to progress. In June, 2012, I competed in my first competition and lost by 1 point and to say it lit a fire under my ass would be putting it mildly. My second contest was July, 2012, and I won the event by 8 points and I have never looked by since.

When I returned to Western for the fall semester I was convinced to try cheerleading by a good friend, which ended up being one of the best decisions of my life! I became one of the captains for the next 3 years. This endeavor led to me truly learning how athletic I could be at over 260lbs. Along with the athletic aspect of cheer, I have met some of the best friends I could ever ask for.

After realizing that my aspirations of becoming an ATC were not going to come to fruition, I dedicated myself to a degree in exercise and sport science with an emphasis is health and wellness, as well as a minor in sport psychology. My next major goal is to earn my Masters in strength and conditioning, eventually followed by my Doctorate.

I currently am certified through the ISSA with my certified personal trainer (CPT), certified strength and conditioning specialist (CSCS), and specialist in sport nutrition (SSN). I am always adding to repertoire.

Now I dedicate my life to helping others learn how to live a healthier and more sustainable life through fitness.
